Sheffield Course 7th - 9th November 2025

We are holding a three-day intensive speech therapy course in Sheffield, a modern and dynamic city in South Yorkshire. This is a weekend course held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Our comprehensive course is designed to help adults who stammer learn how to talk in a calm and controlled manner, ultimately without fear.

How it works

• For those new to our costal breathing course, there is a £250 fee for our three-day course and ongoing support.

• After attending your first course, there are no further charges: our fabulous ongoing and lifelong support, and returning to another course to “top up” your technique, are free of charge.

If you have already taken a course outside Empowering Voices that uses costal breathing, you may still be able to attend one of our courses for free. We will have a chat with everyone before coming on a course.

Venue, accommodation and transport

The course is at Sheffield Hallam University, in the modern Charles Street building. The training room is large and modern on the sixth floor, overlooking the Sheffield skyline in the middle of the city. 

If you need accommodation, there are lots of premium budget hotels available within a short walk; details of our recommended hotel will be posted here closer to the course date and emailed to course participants who have already signed up. 

Important tip: central Sheffield hotels use dynamic pricing; our research suggests that the cheapest room prices will be two to three months before the course. Don't book your room too early; it will probably cost you more. We will recommend a great hotel closer to the course date.

We will have dinner every evening in one of the great restaurants in central Sheffield, a 5-minute walk from your hotel and the venue.
